Bierbower Your condolences and memories will not be displayed on this site. They are shared only with the family Robert L. Bierbower died Monday, June 29, 2009, at david place in David City. Robert was born October 28, 1927, in Giltner, Nebraska to James C. and Margaret(Luby) Bierbower. He attended school in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School. He then graduated from the University of Nebraska and the University of Nebraska Medical School.On October 27, 1951, robert married Verla Bayne in Giltner. He was in Family Practice in Shelby from 1955-1987. Robert also served in the United States Army in Korea from 1952-1954. In his spare time he was what his family called a "gentleman farmer". Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Shelby American Legion. He is survived by his wife Verla of Shelby, three sons:Robert J.(Jeri) Bierbower, Seward, James E.(Estelle) Bierbower, Wakefield, Patrick Bierbower, Kearney, two daughters; Jean M.(Doug) Hopwood, Rising City, Carol A.(Doug) Carpenter, Grand Junction, Colorado, a sister, Joan Kersey of College Station, Texas, 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; James J. and John R. Bierbower, three sisters; June M. Bierbower, Margaret DeBord and Mary L. Albracht, infant daughter Mary Jane and grandson, Matthew Hopwood. |
