Doris Busse, 89, of Columbus, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Emerald Nursing in Columbus.

Doris was born on March 21, 1936 in Clarkson, NE to John & Vivian Sousek. She graduated from Clarkson High School in 1954. On March 25, 1956 she married Orville Busse in Clarkson. They had 3 sons; Bruce, Kevin & Rick.
She worked as a teacher in the Leigh Country School. They later moved to North Bend, where she worked for Western Homes Corp. making trailer houses, Weldon Industries doing office work, & last to Columbus where she worked as a paraprofessional at Columbus High School and the ESU Unit until she retired.
Doris enjoyed bowling, cooking, & spending time with her family & friends. She was especially known for her famous chocolate chip cookies. She had a great sense of humor and filled the room with laughter wherever she went. She had her hands full, working and raising 3 boys while Orville was supporting the family & driving over the road. She was also an avid Husker football and volleyball fan.
Those left to cherish the memories of Doris are: sons Bruce (Theresa) Busse of North Bend & Kevin (Lori) Busse of Columbus; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Roly Loseke of St. Augustine, FL; sister-in-law June Sousek of Montrose, Colorado; & many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; mother & father-in-law Elmer & Lizzie Busse; brothers Johnny & Cecelia Sousek, brother Dennis Sousek; sister Eleanor Loseke; in-laws Nordin Busse, Jack & Georgia Larson, Jake & Betty Held, Jerry & Ceola Sedlacek; son, Rick Busse.
