Yair Garcia, 22, of Schuyler passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 as a result of an automobile accident in Butler County.

Visitation Wednesday 3-7 with 7 P.M. Rosary--at St. Mary's Church
Visitation continues Thursday 4- 5 P.M. also at the church
Light lunch in the Social Center following the Mass

Yair was born January 6, 2003, in Columbus, Nebraska to Marisela Lopez and Richard Garcia. He received his education in Schuyler Public Schools. Yair was in leadership group in grade school, Student Council in Middle School and very active throughout his school years. He played soccer, football, basketball and was Homecoming King his senior year. He then attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice for one year, playing soccer. His current plans were to enlist in the United States Marine Corp. Yair followed the NBA Thunder, Chicago Bears and Cubs, WWE, attended Husker games, and was a member of the Boy Scouts when he was younger. He was currently umpiring for the Columbus Youth Baseball League. He was also a member of the first group of the Schuyler Football Club. Yair was very knowledgeable and passionate and knew all the players names.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Marisela, a sister, Pammela Garcia who serves in the United States Army in Alabama, brother Gibran Garcia at home and many other family members.
