Harold William Workman was born on December 1, 1943, and died May 19, 2026.
He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He earned his bachelors, masters and PhD in
engineering at Iowa State. He worked for Rockwell Collins in New Jersey, then back to
Cedar Rapids and finally Naperville, IL where he remained. He married his wife, LuRay
in Clarion, IA on August 4, 1968.
He was very involved in raising his four children and spent his free time driving them to
lessons, practices and games. He was also interested in genealogy, travel and trivia
and puzzles. He was active in his church and he and LuRay visited Russia on mission
trips in 2000 and 2002.
Harold is survived by his wife, LuRay, and his children: Richard (Kristen) Workman,
Laura (Jake) Taylor, Lynette (Charlie) Hart and Robert Workman. He is also survived by
grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christopher and Abigail Workman, Joshua, Lauren and Jordan
Taylor, Laci and Calvin Hart, brothers Norman and Randall Workman, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Vida Workman.
Harold will be interred in David City, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to Grace United Methodist Church in Naperville, IL.
