Frances E. Jedlicka was born on March 2, 1941, in Stanton, Nebraska, to Lumir and Frances (Peter) Hartl. She graduated from Stanton High School.
On June 15, 1959, she was united in marriage to George Jedlicka at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton. Following their marriage, the couple made their home on a farm northwest of Schuyler, where Fran devoted herself to her family and farm life. They retired and moved to Schuyler in 1987.
)Fran started cooking at Bosh's Restaurant, later she moved to Schuyler Nursing Home where she was Dietary Supervisor of the Kitchen. When Fran "retired" from the nursing home she still continued to work part-time first at the St. Benedict Center, then she moved to the Schuyler Senior Center and lastly Casey's in Schuyler. After Fran left Casey's she remained active in the community, although her health wasn't the best she was still always there offering prayers or starting a rosary crusade, baking something up for something or just by being there. Fran had an "open" door to not only her children and grandchildren but also her children's friends & grandchildren's friends. She was known by most everyone that walked through her front door as "Grandma" , a name she carried with pride.
Fran was a member of her church community. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and especially spending time with family and her beloved dogs. She cherished traveling to California to visit her sisters and loved the beach. Fran was an enthusiastic supporter of Husker sports and rarely missed a game. She was also a member of the Schuyler Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary for more than 20 years.
Fran is survived by her daughters: Patricia (Ron) Collins of Plymouth, Pamela (David) Frank of Omaha, sons: Albert (Marcia) Jedlicka, Andrew Jedlicka, 2 sisters: MariLou Ertzner of Chula Vista, California, Kelly Hall of Stanton, brothers: Don (Lori) Hartl of Platte Center, Robert (Betty) Hartl of Norfolk, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Mona Hartl of Oregon, Dog Daisy, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lumir & Frances (Peter) Hartl, her husband George, her son Steve (Penny), brother Gene Hartl, grandchildren Alison & Alex Jedlicka and great-grandchild, Tessa Martinez.
