Lyle Joseph Hamernik was born on August 5th, 1957 at Schuyler, Nebraska  to Joe K and Olga M.
(Bilek) Hamernik. He received his education at Leigh Elementary and Leigh High School.
He was baptized at the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson and confirmed at the First
Congregational Church in Leigh. When the church closed he became a member of St. John's
Lutheran Church at Leigh.
He was a well known well driller around Leigh and surrounding communities, having joined the
family business in 1973. After his father's death in 1993 he continued on drilling and plumbing
along with his brother David. He was a member of the Nebraska Well-Drillers Association.
He loved to fish and most of all he loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Every year he
took a trip to Sturgis, South Dakota to the motorcycle rally. He  made many sight- seeing trips
through
out  Nebraska and surrounding states. He also enjoyed going on poker runs with friends.
He is survived by his mother Olga M. Hamernik, brother David and his wife Arlene Hamernik,
nephew Harley Hamernik all of Leigh. Two nieces; Becky (Sean) Kopecky of Davey, Nebraska and
Kelli (Brent) Reichmuth of Humphrey, Nebraska. One grand niece Taylor Jean Kopecky of Davey,
Nebraska and grand nephew Jett Joseph Reichmuth of Humphrey, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Libbie Hamernik, his maternal
grandparents, Frank and Bessie Bilek and his father Joe K. Hamernik in 1993.
