They are shared only with the family Irene died Saturday, December 31, 2011, at david place in David City Irene was born August 3, 1922, in Linwood, Nebraska to Emil and Emily(Travnicek) Vitamvas. She graduated from Schuyler High School. On June 26, 1947, she married Norval Kroeger at the Episcopal Church in Schuyler. They lived in Schuyler and Irene worked at the Arrow Inn Cafe, Ben Franklin and until recently was the bookkeeper for Kroeger Sand and Gravel. She loved to bake pies, do crossword puzzles and other word games and especially loved watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. Irene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Schuyler. She is survived by three daughters;Carolyn(Douglas) Grey of Tiburon, California, Jane Kroeger of Seward, Judy(Jerry) McNally, Schuyler, one son, Duane and Barb Thompson of Schuyler, a sister, Emily Kohler of Schuyler, six grandchildren;Emily(Jason) Goldman of San Francisco, California, Maggie(Jay) Harris, Sausalito, California, Molly Grey, Tiburon, California, Ashley McNally of Aurora, Brett McNally of Schuyler and Jessica(Aaron) Dinslage of Omaha, and two great-grandchildren, Max Harris and Ayla Dinslage. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norval and two sisters; Libbie Travnicek and Josephine Heikel. |
