They are shared only with the family Dorothy died Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the GoldenLiving Center in Columbus. Dorothy was born November 3, 1922, in Leigh, Nebraska to Walter and Lillian(Glandt) Hahn. She graduated from Leigh High School in 1940. On February 16, 1944, she married Merle Folken at St. John's Lutheran Church in Leigh. They farmed in the Wilson Community in Colfax County, moving to Leigh in February of 1967. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and the Women of the ELCA. She moved to Columbus in September of 2005. Dorothy enjoyed her grandchildren, talking on the phone with her friends from Leigh and visiting with those around her. She especially loved listening to polka music and if there was a musical event at the Living Center, she would be in the front row. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy(Jerry) Korte of Columbus, grandson Pastor Seth Korte, Richmond, Virginia, granddaughter Sarah(Kody) Rising of Seward, grandson, Shane Korte, Lincoln, daughter-in-law Jean Folken of Kansas City, Missouri, grandsons Keith(Abbie) Folken of Peoria, Illinois, Jeff Folken of Kansas City, Greg Folken and Krystle Cole of Topeka, Kansas,and Adam Folken, Kansas City, granddaughter Jill Folken, also of Kansas City, great-grandchildren Abbygale Folken and Logan Rising. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Merle and a son, Ron Folken. |
