Mike was born on July 6th, 1944, he died on ----- December 4th, 2024 He was born at home in the house his Fathers family had set up on their farm in 1887 and lived there the majority of his life. He came later in his parents' life as he was the born 17 years after his only brother. Bill.
Mike graduated from Lincoln Business Institute and finished two other Higher Accounting Couse's while attending Kearney State University.
After graduation he worked for a CPA out of Beatrice, then on September 10th, 1966, he accepted the position of Head Accountant for Henningsen Foods in the David City branch. He continued working there till he retired September 2nd, 2011, after forty-four years of service.
Mike met his wife to be while working there as well, Patricia Greenwood, when he handed her an application for employment. They were married July 1st, 1967. at the Columbus Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's witnesses. There union produced one son born September 1st, 1976, who was named in honor of his older brother Bill McCracken who never had any children.
Mike could often be spotted buzzing around town on his Honda Dream Motorcycle. His main hobby became a large collection of Comic books, and his favorite sport was watching Husker Football attending numerous games over the years. For a time while the Egg Plant sponsored a team he coached little league baseball.
His favorite pass time was attending Joseph Hall Concerts and Elvis Impersonators that he followed for decades. An avid gardener: Mike received over 1000 ribbons of all colors and dozens of rosettes for his produce entries at the Butler County Fair Field and Garden competitions over his lifetime.
Mike served six years in the Nebraska National Guard.
