Loretta J. Bahns was born August 24, 1931, in Schuyler to Ludwig and Helen (Kadlec) Vrba. She attended school in District #31 and graduated from Schuyler High in 1948. On November 9, 1950, she married Melvin Bahns at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wilson. Loretta was past president and secretary of St. Mary's Altar Society in Leigh and had served as secretary of the Parish Council and a member of St. Mary's Quilting Club. She also had served on the Wilson Precinct election board and was a member of Catholic Workman branch #40 of the Wilson Church.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren;Linda Bahns of Tempe, Arizona and her children Dusana Schnell and wife, Leslie Heyford of Austin, Texas and Konrad and wife,Diane Schnell of Mesa, Judy and Mick Borer of Fullerton and their children, Travis Borer and girl friend Gina Tabisola of Omaha and Devin and his wife Leah of Grand Island, Karen Lopour and her son Chris of Lincoln, Ron Bahns and daughter McKenzie of Clarkson, and son Darrell and his wife Laura and their children Megan and Nathan of Leigh. She is also survived by her brother, Victor and Mae Vrba, of Clarkson, sister-in-law Doris Bahns of Clarkson, and three great-grandchildren, Lane Borer, Greyson Underwood and Alex Schnell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin and brother-in-law Marvin Bahns.
