Angeline I. "Angie" Maca, 97, of Schuyler, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Emerald Care Center in Columbus.

Angeline I. Maca was born October 30, 1926, in Colfax County to B.J. and Ione (Telecky) Novotny.  She attended District #14 and graduated from Clarkson High School.  She attended business school and worked for Mutual of Omaha until she married Lambert Maca on September 4, 1952, at First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler.  They lived and farmed northeast of Schuyler until retiring to Schuyler.  They were faithful members of Bethlehem Presbyterian and First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler where Angie taught Sunday School.  She also was active in 4H and a member of the Extension Club.  She was a devoted farm wife, mother and "right hand" to Lambert.  She was famous for driving the grain truck during harvest and supplying lunches and dinners to all the farm hands.  Angie was an excellent baker, making kolaches, pies and bread.  She taught her granddaughters sewing and baking.  She loved caring for her garden and flowers and caring for the animals, especially her dog Rocky.  Her greatest love was spending time with her family.  Angie had resided at Emerald Care in Columbus for three years.

Grateful for having shared in her life are daughter Jacquie (Jeff) Hopkins of Schuyler,  three grandchildren; Brent (Sara) Hopkins of Rogers, Ashlee (Billy) Hamlin,Bennington and Tiffany (Merrick) Miller of San Ramon, California, seven great-grandchildren; Riley, Collin and Hallie Hopkins, Mia and Vivienne Hamlin, Roarke and Isla Miller, brother-in-law Lavern Clausen, sister-in-law Marcella Maca and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, husband Lambert, sister Alma Clausen and brother-in-law Joe Maca.
