Nora “Muci” Ball

Nora “Muci” Ball

Our Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Nora Ball, “Muci”, peacefully left this Earthly realm to join our Dad, Brother and other Family members in Heaven on December 28th 2023.

To honor Nora’s wishes, A Celebration of Life to welcome family and friends, will be held January 1, 2024, from 1-4pm, at her daughter, Andra’s house @ 3010 40th St, Columbus, NE.  The Family suggests donations to the ALS Foundation in her memory.

Nora was born March 3, 1939 in Belaruse, Poland.  Her early childhood found her and her family in the throes of WWII as Latvian refugees where they eventually ended up in a West German Deportation camp for approximately 7 years.  After arriving in New York at the age of twelve she and her family began life anew in America where she grew and thrived and went on to graduate from Indiana University.  It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Gary Ball.  Gary was an Officer and Pilot with the USAF and together they began a most amazing journey that included travel to many places around the world, and more importantly the birth of their 3 children who they were completely devoted to.

Nori was not only an amazing Wife and Mother, but she also made time for herself and obtained her Masters Degree in Psychology, and went on to work for State of Nebraska Job Training as well as volunteering for Tabitha Hospice.  She enjoyed spending time with her beloved doggy, Mr. Conner, reading, talking to people, and was writing a book about her life titled, “Forget me Not”, which the family will finish and publish for her.

Nora was a Grand Lady and her legacy will live on through her Family and Friends.  She was a Tower of Strength, Pillar of Love, and The Wind Beneath Our Wings.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Lija (Doug) Pittman; Andra (Hayden) Eilers; 6 Grandchildren, Ashley Eilers, Shane Leathers, Canon (Josh) Peters, Clayton (Cecelia) Eilers, Jonah (Kaitlyn) Henness and Celsey Rehrmann; 10 Great-Grandchildren: Isaiah (Charlee), Serenity, Taylor, Talon, Nevaeh, Lyric, Brooklyn, Liv, Kiedis, and Blake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Ball; son, Loren Ball; Mother and Father, Lilija and Peteris Upenieks; and Mother and Father-In-Law, Ethel and Kenneth Ball.
