Donald Maliha, 74, of Leigh, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Clarkson Care Center in Clarkson.
In lieu of plants, flowers and statues memorials can be given to Leigh Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Leigh Legacy, Club 91 Golf Course, Howells Fire and Rescue or Curing Cancer with Clubs

Don was born March 28, 1950, in Columbus NE, to Laurence and Norma (Mullenhoff) Maliha. He attended Zion Lutheran School thru 8th grade and graduated from Leigh High School in 1968. He continued his education at Kearney State College, Kearney NE. On June 19, 1971, Don married Sheryl Ditter In the Presbyterian Church in Creston NE. They lived most of their life in Leigh NE area. Don work construction with his dad for many years. In 1984 he bought the Bank of Leigh Insurance Agency in Leigh NE. He later bought Manak Ins in 1995 and Dan Bowlin Agency in 2013 Clarkson NE and added Howells Agency in 2006.
He enjoyed being an active member in the Leigh Community. Don was a member of the Leigh Fire Dept for 23 years, holding offices of Vice President, President and Chief. Member of the Village Board for 23 years, member of Park Place (Tri-County) Board, member of Leigh Optimist and served on Club 91 Golf Course Foundation Board for 20
years.His hobbies included: fishing, hunting, bowling and golf.
He in survived by: Wife - Sherri, Daughter - Angie Luther, Son - Brian & Jennifer Maliha, Sister - Nancy (Roger) Schaad, Grandchildren: Hunter and Chase Luther, and Wade Maliha.
He was preceded death by: Parents - Laurence and Norma Maliha Grand parents - Joseph & Marie Maliha, Carl & Florence Mullenhoff, Father-in-law - Willard Ditter, Mother-in-law - Carolyn Hunter.
