Marvin Bahns, 84, of Clarkson, died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Countryside Nursing Home in
Madison.

Marvin Bahns was born April 9, 1931, on the family farm near Clarkson to John and Marie(Molacek)
Bahns. He attended School District #62 and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1949. He
enlisted in the National Guard and served from 1951-1953 and was drafted into the Army. He was
stationed in Munchweiler, Germany with the 15th Evacuation Hospital and was Honorably Discharged
in 1955. On May 15, 1952, Marvin married Doris Jenny in Austin, Texas. They had three children,
Calvin, Kerry and Amy. He was a Life Member of VFW Post #6419 in Clarkson and was honored in
2005 for 50 years in the VFW. He also had served on the school board for District #30. He lived and
worked on the family farm which has been in the Bahns family for over 100 years. He was proud to be
a farmer, loved his family, the land, his animals and his dogs. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing,
new cars and trucks.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Bahns of Clarkson, children Kerry(Jacqueline) Bahns
of Wichita, Amy(Rod) Steffensmeier of Clarkson, daughter-in-law Joan Bahns, Leigh, 12 grandchildren
and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Calvin and brother Melvin.
