Rose Jakub, 95 of David City, died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Rose was born May 18, 1920 at Appleton, Nebraska to Anton L and Stacie (Sabata) Svoboda. She
attended country school near Appleton. On May 20, 1941 she was united in marriage to Emil H. Jakub
at Assumption Catholic Church, Appleton. Rose was a lifelong David City area resident. She had
worked as a cook at the David City hospital, and also worked at Dale Electronics. Rose also dedicated
many years caring for her younger brother Emil.
Rose is survived by her son Vernon(Janeth) Jakub of Round Rock, TX, Grandchildren Jeffrey Jakub of
Austin, TX, Lindsey Jakub of Round Rock, TX. She is survived by brothers and sisters-in law;Rudy A.
Svoboda, Cyril(Irene) Svoboda and Valerian(Joan) Svoboda, all of David City, Margie Svoboda,
Bruno and Agnes Svoboda of David City. Also surviving is her sister; Elsie Ponec of David City and
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Emil H. Jakub, brothers; Jim, Joe, Adolph, Louis,
Laddie, Dennis and Emil. Sisters;Mary Cemper, Martha Fiala, Lucille Pleskac and Mildred Chubb.
