Leonard Havranek, 80, of David City, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.

Leonard was born July 20, 1943, in O'Neill, Nebraska to James and Mary (Jirak) Havranek. He attended area schools and graduated from O'Neill High School. On May 11, 1974, he married Marie Hegr at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Madison. They lived in Abie, where they ran a bar, and moved to David City. He was the leader of the Leonard Havranek Trio. Leonard had served in the United States Navy as a radar man. He belonged the American Legion in Prague.
Leonard is survived by his daughter, Charlene Steager and son James (Maricel) Havranek, two brothers, Francis (Marty) Havranek of Fremont and Don Havranek of O'Neill and five grandchildren, Lukas and Ella Havranek, Janelle and Jacob Gustamante and Melissa Silva. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marie in 2013.
