Tonia Kracl, 76, of Schuyler, died Wednesday,March 5,2025, at CHI Memorial Hospital in Schuyler.


In lieu of flowers, plants, and statues: Memorials may be given to the Schuyler Cemetery or Schuyler Volunteer Fire Department

Tonia (Toni) Kracl was born in Oxford, NE December 17th, 1948 to JoAnne Bice and Edward Leiding. She entered her eternal rest on March 5th, 2025 at the age of 76.  Toni spent her younger years in Oxford and Fremont, NE where she attended grade school. When her family moved to Holbrook, NE where she attended high school and graduated with the class of 1967. While in high school Toni was involved with many activities and sports. During her junior and senior year Toni was a cheerleader for HHS.

Following her graduation, Toni attended Kearney State College for a while before going to work at Campbell Soup in Fremont, NE.  She then moved to Schuyler, NE and worked at Cargill for 34 years, during her years working for Cargill she stayed active with playing various softball games and bowling tournaments. She then met Brian and they soon began dating and married October, 12th 1990. During their marriage Toni and Brian had a lot of adventures some include going to Colorado, South Dakota and Florida. While in Florida Toni and Brian visited DisneyLand and the Everglades. As well as spending many weekends camping at Branched Oak in Lincoln, NE. They enjoyed taking car rides everyday with Rico around town. Toni and Brian recently celebrated 34 years of marriage.

Toni spent most of her days sitting on the patio spending time with her pets, as well as sitting in the house in her chair watching many shows that include Hallmark, HGTV and Judge Judy. Toni loved her crossword and word search puzzles. She was known for her green thumb and her many beautiful house plants. She grew a rubber tree that was so large they needed a Uhaul to transport the plant to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha,NE where she donated it. Toni and Brian shared a special love for their animals over the years, Chico, Amigo, Rico and Smoke including taking a car ride to feed the stray cats everyday. Toni loved keeping her home spotless and “puttering” around the house. Her basement “Grocery store” was kept stocked at all times and was envied by many!

Tonia is survived by her husband, Brian, son, Travis (Maria) Brewer of Stromsburg, daughter, Heidi Brewer of Mead, sisters: Cindy Bowers of Holbrook, Sheila Meader of Arapahoe, Micki Thompson of Fremont, Trudee Hamel of Arapahoe, brothers: Kerry Thompson and Mason (Jennifer) Schroeder of Arapahoe, step-father, Neale Schroeder of Arapahoe, uncle, Tim (Sandy) Bice, 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandsons, several nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Danielle Brewer.
