Born on November 16, 1949, Marvin grew up in Rising City and attended Green Leaf Country School and Rising City High School. He went on to earn a degree in diesel mechanic repair from Nebraska Vocational Technical School in Milford, setting the foundation for a lifetime of hard work and dedication.

On November 10, 1973, Marvin married the love of his life, Suzanne Kay (Pinneo) Siffring, and together they built a life filled with love, family, and hard work. They raised two sons, Jason, who resides in Chicago, IL, and Travis, who lives in Morrisville, NC. Marvin was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Kate, Allie, Rose, and Hazel, daughters of Jason and Gretchen (Warner) Siffring, and Charlie and Emily, children of Travis and Lyssa (Perryman) Siffring.

Marvin was immensely proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned recognition for his sharp-shooting skills. His strong work ethic carried into his professional life as a farmer, a skilled carpenter, and a devoted custodian for Rising City Public School, where he served for 21 years.

Beyond his work, Marvin had a love for books and likely read every western novel ever published. He also enjoyed watching baseball, a pastime that brought him much joy over the years and was a player and coach of the Rising City men’s fast pitch softball team. Marvin was dedicated to serving his community and spent many years as a volunteer firefighter, always ready to lend a helping hand when his neighbors needed him most.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; his brother, Gary Siffring and wife DeEtte of Rising City; and his sister, Joann Berglund and husband Ron of Syracuse, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris Siffring and Pauline Loudenslager and step-mother Thelma Hoffman.

Marv will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
