Bill was born November 28, 1952 in Schuyler, Nebraska to Jack and Mary Alice (Healy) Hovorka. He attended Schuyler Schools and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1971. Following graduation he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Bill served in the United States Navy from 1972-1976, service with the Seabees. Following his service Bill lived in Ojai, California for 30 years where he worked for B.J. Hughes company on offshore oil drilling rigs. He returned to Schuyler in 2002, and later moved to David City where he worked at Timpte Manufacturing for 18 years until his retirement.
Bill is survived by his brother Bob Hovorka of Shakopee, MN, sister Mary Kay Scott of Arlington, NE, Nancy Meister of David City, nieces Ally Hovorka, Hayley Scott and nephew Jack Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Bonnie Hovorka, brother-in-law Shawn Scott.
