Adolph was born April 15, 1929, in Edholm, Nebraska to Adolph A. and Emma (Hamsa) Novacek. He attended area schools and graduated from high school. On December 6, 1951, he joined the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a cook in Alaska for two years. On February 16, 1954, Adolph married Joan Smrz at the Wilson Catholic Church, Clarkson. They lived and farmed near Bellwood, eventually retiring to Schuyler and spent the last five years in Assisted Living at Emerald Care in Columbus. Adolph was a farmer and raised Black Angus cattle. He was a very good welder, made trailers for each of the children and also had made much of his farm equipment. His greatest joy was spending time with family and he was very proud of his Czech heritage. Adolph was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Augustine's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus ,Hespen-Mitchell Post #4836 of the VFW and had served on the school board of District #3, Butler County and the Bone Creek Township Board. He helped keep Holy Cross Cemetery mowed, served as an Acolyte at the church and was in the VFW Honor Guard as well.
He is survived by his wife, Joan of Columbus, daughter Kimberly Joan (David Mickle) Carlin of San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua, son Adolph E. (Mary) Novacek of Riceville, Iowa, brother Marland (Phyllis) Novacek of Linwood, three grandchildren; Brian (Sarah) Novacek, Craig (Kwin) Novacek and Jon (Amanda) Carlin, 10 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Catherine Novacek and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Elmer Novacek and sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Ben Fricke.
