Kay Walton, 84, of Bellwood, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City where she has resided for three years.

Katherine "Kay" Ida Walton, 84, of Bellwood, Nebraska, passed away on October 1, 2024, in David City, Nebraska. She was born on May 25, 1940, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Leonard Sr. and Dorothy Harris.
Kay graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1958 and went on to earn her degree from Kearney State College in December 1980, becoming a Certified Public Accountant. She worked at Countryman & Associates and taught Accounting and Economics at Grand Island College.
On April 18, 1966, Kay married Albert Walton in Jefferson, South Dakota. They moved to Grand Island in 1967, where they purchased their first home and lived for over fifty years. Following Albert’s passing, she relocated to Bellwood in 2018.
Kay was deeply devoted to her family, and her three grandchildren—Sloane, Slate, and Emma—were her pride and joy. Her passions included gardening, horseback riding, and creating lasting memories with loved ones. She was an active member of the Bellwood United Methodist Church, contributing to her community with love and dedication.
Kay is survived by her son, Alex Walton of Waterloo, NE, daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Watson of North Platte, NE; former son-in-law Jeremy Watson of Greeley, CO; grandchildren Sloane (Tray) Prak, Slate Watson, and Emma Watson, all of Omaha, NE; her brothers Leonard, Tom (Midge), Davy (Deborah), Danny (Cindy), and Roy (Denise) Harris; sisters Sally Muckey and Jola (Billy) Carnes; sister-in-law Janet Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert (Abe); her parents; brothers Charlie Harris; sisters Dorothy (Gary) Cheevers, Nora Jean (Dale) Neely, and Sandra (Jerry) Rettele; and sister-in-law Sue Harris.
Kay will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
