Zachary "Zach" G. Nelson, 34 of Bellwood, died Saturday, August 10, 2024 as a result of a UTV accident.

Zach was born on June 29, 1990, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Mike and Amy (Gangwish) Nelson. He graduated from Adams Central High School in Hastings, Nebraska, in 2009. He attended Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, where he played baseball.
Zach married Morgan Stubbs on June 3, 2022, in Bellwood, Nebraska. They have one daughter, Berklee Sue, age 3 and a baby boy due to arrive in September 2024.
Zach worked at Frontier Co-op in Bellwood as a sprayer operator. He learned all about farming from his grandpa Denny and uncle Matt. They spent many years farming together. Zach was a member of the Bellwood Volunteer Fire Department for 9 years. He was currently the 2nd Assistant Chief and Treasurer of the department.
Zach loved his family fiercely. He was always good for witty responses or jokes. He loved to laugh with friends and family. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan. He enjoyed playing all sports, especially baseball and golf.
Zach is survived by his wife Morgan and daughter Berklee of Bellwood, Nebraska, parents Mike and Amy Nelson of Lincoln, Nebraska, brother Zane (Abby) Nelson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Zaden (Emma) Nelson of Lincoln, Nebraska, Zoey Nelson of Omaha, Nebraska, grandparents Denny and Carol (Witt) Gangwish of Sun City, Arizona, grandmother Sherri (Crowe) Nelson of Hastings, Nebraska, uncle Matt (Angie) Gangwish of Bellwood, Nebraska, uncle Mark Gangwish of Hastings, Nebraska, aunt Melissa (Mike) Bauder of Hastings, Nebraska, best friend John (Samantha) LaMaster of Omaha, Nebraska, one niece Iyla Nelson, and numerous cousins.
Zach was preceded in death by his grandpa, Gary Nelson, great grandparents George and Lois Witt, Shorty and Doris Gangwish, Raymond Crowe, Gordon and Patsy (Crowe) Miles, Audrey Nelson, Verlen and Ruby Nelson and his beloved dog Copper.
