Mary Boehme, 90, of Omaha, formerly of Schuyler, died peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the home of her daughter in Omaha.

On Friday July 12th, 2024 , Mary Boehme passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home In Omaha.
Mary was born on August 29, 1933, at Columbus Hospital (Columbus, NE) to Elizabeth (nee Tully) and Edward Higgins.
Upon graduation from Howells High School in 1951, Mary moved to Omaha. There she attended the Creighton School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1953. Mary worked as a nurse at the Omaha Veterans Administration and at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA.
On December 29, 1958, she was united in marriage with Ferdinand J. Boehme (Rulo, NE) at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church (Schuyler, NE). His occupation as an electrical engineer required them to frequently relocate. Mary and Ferd would eventually have 5 children.
Throughout her life, Mary loved being a Mother. She was also an active member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, as well as the Little Flower Altar Society of St. Theresa of Liseux.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and Edward Higgins, her husband, Ferdinand J. Boehme (1930 -2003) and her son Fr. Ferdinand J. Boehme (1960 - 2024).
Mary is survived by her sons Edward Boehme (Ashburn, Va.), John (Junko) Boehme (San Diego), daughters Marie Boehme (Omaha), Marguerite (Douglas) Boehme-Paterson (Omaha), grandchildren John and Ferdinand Boehme (San Diego).
