Carroll L. Kumpf

Carroll Kumpf, 97, of Leigh, died Friday, November 23, 2018, at the Countryside Nursing Home in Madison.


Carroll Kumpf was born in Leigh June 20, 1921, to Edward and Hulda (Loseke) Kumpf.  He attended school in Leigh and graduated from Leigh High School.  He then served in the United States Navy during WWII. He lived in Chester County, Pennsylvania and worked as a carpenter and ceiling contractor.  Carroll belonged to the Masons and American Legion.  In 2006, he retired to Leigh and enjoyed riding horses.

Carroll is survived by his son, Bruce (Sandy) Kumpf of Apollo Beach, Florida, grandson Lawrence (Ruba) Kumpf of Brooklyn, New York and many relatives in the Leigh area.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Lawrence and four brothers; Gordon, Harry, LeRoy and Clarence Kumpf.

It was Carroll's desire to be cremated.  In April, 2019, the family will gather in Leigh for a graveside service with military honors.
