Alvin Sayers, 90, of Clarkson,died Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Countryside Nursing Home in Madison.

Alvin R. Sayers was born February 15, 1933, near Leigh, Nebraska to Roy and Elsie (Hejtmanek) Sayers.  He attended area schools and farmed with his father.  On October 8, 1953, he married Mary Lou Severa at the Congregational Church in Leigh.  They lived and farmed south of Leigh and later moved to the farm place where he spent the rest of his life.  Alvin served in the United States Army from 1953-1955.  He was a member of the American Legion, DAV and a lifetime member of the VFW.

Alvin is  survived by two daughters, Debra (Ken) Karel and Gayle Sayers, all of Clarkson, five grandchildren; Becky (Tom) Miller of Pierce, Liz (Brett) Druba of Lincoln, Charlie O'berg of Kansas City, Rachel  O'berg and Cody (Aliychia) O'berg, all of Columbus, 8 great-grandchildren; Easton, Avery and Crew Druba, Lorelei and Riley Miller, Jolene, Lane and Keegan O'berg, sister-in-law Audrey Sayers of Clarkson and brother-in-law Adolph (Shirley) Severa of Fremont.  He was preceded in death by his  parents, wife, daughter Janet O'berg and three brothers, George, Willis and Ernie Sayers.
