Glee Lavon (Hoover) Kracl, 79, of Schuyler, Nebraska passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on December 4, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Glee was born April 21, 1946, in Plattsburg, MO to Ira & Lucile Hoover. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from McPherson College in McPherson, KS before moving to Columbus, NE to start her teaching career.
On June 30, 1973, she married Emil (Bud) Kracl and they started their life together in Schuyler, NE. They have 3 daughters, Amanda, Amy, and Angie, along with 3 sons-in-law and 7 wonderful grandchildren. “Grandma Glee” loved all her roles in life, but she especially loved her role as Grandma. Glee was a passionate educator for over 40 years, spending most of her career teaching 2nd grade and later substitute teaching after retirement. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, an avid gardener, singer, cake decorator, seamstress, Husker volleyball fan, and the best “Grandma Glee”. She loved spending her time with her beloved family. Glee will be known for her sense of humor, jokes and storytelling, along with so many other wonderful attributes. Whenever she was in a group, there was always a funny story or experience to share, most of the time resulting in laughter and joy.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bud Kracl; their children, Amanda (Tim) Callahan of Gretna, NE, Amy (Ryan) Gerdes of Papillion, NE, and Angie (Ryan) Mundil of Elkhorn, NE; grandchildren, Keegan and Jameson Callahan, Berkley and Hudson Gerdes, and Ava, Carter, and Benson Mundil; siblings Beth Baile of St. Louis, MO and Mark Hoover of Plattsburg, MO. and very special friends, Larry and Carol Foy of Elkhorn. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Lucile Hoover.
