Katherine Stanek was born May 3, 1943 in Malmo, Nebraska to William C. and Bessie (Haba) Dauel.   Katherine graduated from Prague High School in 1961.   On August 25, 1963 she was united in marriage to Ronald Stanek, Sr. and they moved to Brainard.    After living in Colorado for a while Katherine came back to Nebraska and spent many years working at Platte Valley Foods where she met some of her closest friends.

Katherine was a loving, stubborn, and overall a great soul.  She enjoyed spending time with loved ones, crocheting, reading and listening to Polka music.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Malmo.

Katherine loved her family and made sure they all knew.   She is survived by her children, Randy (Sherri) Stanek, Rodney (Andrea) Stanek, Ronald Jr. (Casey) Stanek, Peggy (Tim) Lee, and Dennis (Katie) Stanek.   Fifteen grandchildren: Dakota, Taylor (Michael), Dalton, Kiefer (Annie), Karson (Sky), Jakob, Quentin, Brooklyn, Sydnee, Sierra, Preston, Jaymee, Jayden, Caroline and Josephine.  Three Great grandchildren Allie, Kanen and Miah.  Siblings Rosalie Frana and Eugene (Debbie) Dauel, many nieces and nephews and special friend, Myron Sabatka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William H. Dauel and brother-in-law Jerome Frana.
