Jerene Schutt, 60, of Schuyler, died Sunday, March 10, 2024, at her home in Schuyler.

Jerene Marie Schutt was born May 31, 1963 at Emmetsburg, Iowa to Paul and Donna (Armstrong) Carney. In 1977 the family moved to Schuyler where she attended school and graduated from Schuyler Central High School in 1981. Jerene was a USDA meat inspector at various plants in the area, including Madison, Grand Island and West Point.
Jerene was a beloved individual known for her hardworking nature and kind heart. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. In her free time she found joy in sewing, canning vegetables from her garden and showcasing her skills in various home improvement projects. Her talents extended to refurbishing two houses from the inside out, demonstrating her proficiency in all she endeavored. Her legacy of love and craftsmanship will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched.
Jerene is survived by her sons Jeffery (Brenda) Schutt of Hastings, Joseph (Paige) Schutt of Shelby, Daughter Christina (Chad Prochaska) Schutt of David City, Seven grandchildren, Mother Donna Carney of Schuyler, Sisters Jean Carney of Fremont, Jackie (Mike) Pickhinke of Schuyler, Janelle (Adrian) Rocha of Schuyler. Nieces and nephews, Dog Baby and many fish.
She was preceded in death by her father Paul in 2003, niece Ashley Pickhinke and ex husband Shayne Schutt.
