Lucille Mundil, 88, of Leigh, died Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Clarkson Community Care Center.

Visitation Monday 5-7 P.M. and Tuesday one hour prior to services-all at the church
Committal in the Clarkson Cemetery Lunch following in the church basement

Lucille was born September 9, 1934, in Clarkson to Ralph and Marie (Odvarka) Matthies. She attended area schools and graduated from Clarkson High School. On June 14, 1955, she married Jerry Mundil at New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson. They lived and farmed near Leigh and in 1975 they moved into Leigh where she and Jerry were custodians at Leigh High School for many years. Lucille loved gardening and was a regular ribbon winner at the County Fair. She also enjoyed sports and following her children and grandchildren in their activities over the years. She loved playing and winning at cards, making her delicious Christmas cookies, listening to polka music and sharing her beautiful smile. Lucille was a member of New Zion Presbyterian Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children; Penny (Dean J.) Janousek of Clarkson, Patty (Dale) Shotkoski of Fremont, Paul (Eileen) Mundil of Breese, Illinois, four grandchildren; Grant (Becky) Janousek, Reed (Kiley) Janousek, Chris (Carrie) Rowell, Candice (Noah) Terwilleger, eleven great-grandchildren; Sawyer, Alleigh, Porter, Eden, Emry and Elliot Janousek, Mason, Beckett, Brady and McKinley Rowell, Linkon Terwilleger, brother-in-law Bert Perina and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry (2017), two sisters, Dorothy and her husband Albin Charipar and Delores Perina, two brothers, Duane Matthies Sr. and his wife Lorraine and LeRoy Matthies and his wife, Ruby and a son-in-law Kenith Rowell.
