Memorials to the family for future designation

Mark A. Kuhn, age 67, of Linwood, Nebraska, peacefully passed away on August 29, 2025, at his home.

Mark was born on September 19, 1957, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Ervin and Margaret Kuhn. He graduated from Lakeview High School and honorably served in the Navy starting in 1975. Mark later joined the National Guard and attended Midland College, where he met his future wife, Ruth. Mark worked for many years at Cargill until his retirement in 2025.

Mark and Ruth raised a loving family, including Charles and Robert Weimer, John Kuhn, and Christina Dryer. They shared many cherished trips camping and fishing throughout the Midwest, creating lasting memories around campfires and on countless adventures.

Mark had a passion for life and his many hobbies, including fishing, camping, home improvement projects, and gardening. He was a master of the "bargain hunt," an annual participant in the Nebraska Junk Jaunt and Bargain Byway, and was known for his determined haggling to find the best deals at stores like Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, and Tractor Supply Co. It was not uncommon for him to visit eight different stores in a single weekend to find the perfect item for a family project. Above all, his favorite activity was traveling to visit his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruth Kuhn; his children, Robert (Mojca) Weimer, Charles (Amanda) Weimer, Robert (Rene) Kuhn, John (Jean) Kuhn, and Christina Dryer (Roger Fetters); and his grandchildren, Kristen Farrell, Katie Weimer, Ryan Weimer, Matthew Weimer, Sebastian Dryer, Sanja Weimer, Ervin Dryer, and Julia Kuhn.

He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Kuhn and Jacquiliene Slack; his sister-in-laws, LeeAnn Schiffbauer and Sandra Youngs; and his longtime friends and neighbors, Gerald and Theresa Jakub. Mark will be deeply missed by his beloved dogs, Andy and Ollie.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Margaret Kuhn; his parents-in-law, Charles and Marjorie Weimer; and his brother-in-law, David Weimer.
