Richard "Rich" Slonecker, 70, of David City, died Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home in David City. Per Rich's wishes, cremation has taken place, and private family services will be held at a later date.
Richard A. Slonecker was born November 7, 1953 in Seward, Nebraska to Virgil and Irene (Nicolaus) Slonecker. The family moved to David City where Rich attended David City Public Schools. He was very proud of his high school years in David City, where Rich was a member of the 1971 state champion football team and the 1972 state champion basketball team. Rich did construction work for many years and also owned and operated S&S siding in David City. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
Rich is survived by his children and grandchildren,
Josh (Megan) Slonecker children: Trista Slonecker, Jacob Mares, Tayja and Taylor Slonecker, Kallen and Kallie Albers, Tessa Slonecker.
T.J. Slonecker and girlfriend Laura Oltmer children: Breanna, Sophia and Reese Slonecker.
Colby (Jamie) Slonecker children: Carter and Charly Slonecker
Cheryl Slonecker, mother of their 3 sons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Carol (Glenn) Kelch, brother Keith Slonecker and Ann Fehncke.
