Jim Wofford, 85, of Schuyler, died Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Brookestone Nursing Home in David City.


A private family service will be held at a later date.

Jim was born May 12, 1939, in Elvins, Missouri to Clifford and Ann(Bowen) Wofford.  He attended school in Elvins and graduated from Elvins High.  He then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia earning a Masters Degree in  Biology.  He went to work for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for a time, then taught school at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri, returned to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission as Chief of the Educational Information Division.  On March 31, 1974, he married Linda Asche in Lincoln and they ran a dairy farm in Paris, Texas for 12 years.  Jim then taught at Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches, Texas.  In 1989 they moved to Schuyler and operated Harris/Wofford and Associates, an accounting firm.  Jim spent the last three years at Brookstone (david place) of David City.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Schuyler, two step-sons, Rick (Sandy) Asche of Linwood and Tad (Pam) Asche of Winfield, Kansas, brother Clifford (Debby) Wofford of Fredricktown, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bill, Ralph and David Wofford and step-daughter Darcie Asche.

 

Memorials may be given to family wishes for future designation.
