It was Elmer's wish that Memorials be given in his name in lieu of flowers and that no
funeral lunch follow his service

Elmer died at his rural Schuyler home on Thursday night. He was born August 5, 1924, on the
family farm in Colfax County to Carl and Edith(Schroeder) Wolta.  He attended District 4 grade
school and Richland High School.  On June 20, 1945, Elmer married Elaine Bauman at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Schuyler, where he was an active member his entire life.  He was a lifelong
farmer in the Richland area and enjoyed raising cattle, fishing, camping, bowling and square
dancing.  Elmer was a builder, all the way from the house and buildings on the place he raised his
family to the furniture he made for his children and grandchildren. He was a proud member of
Harolds Squares.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, sons Larry of Palmer, Nebraska and Richard(Carol) of Schuyler,
three grandsons; Justin(Amy) Wolta, Chicago, Illinois, Thad and Tyler Wolta, Schuyler, three
granddaughters; Amber(Eric) Johnson, San Antonio, Texas, Sarah(David) Tonjes of Fremont and
Casey Wolta, Norfolk.  He is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Joslyn Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John, baby sister Dorothy and daughter-in-law
Patricia(Fichtl) Wolta.
