Almarine Mastny, 88, of Schuyler, died Wednesday at the Golden Living Center in Schuyler.

Almarine Verne, daughter of Louis and Ema (Cada) Roether was born August 11, 1921, in
Clarkson, Nebraska.  She received her education in the Clarkson Public Schools, graduating in
1939.  She worked in the school library and in 1944 started working at the Clarkson Bank.  In 1946,
she resigned and married Johnny Mastny at the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson on June
19, 1946.  They moved to Schuyler and Almarine worked at the Schuyler State Bank from
1948-1986, concluding a banking career of 40 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler, the Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary
and the Rural Carriers Auxiliary.  Almarine was an avid reader, enjoyed scrapbooking, stamp
collecting and watching television.
She is survived by three sisters-in-law;Mary Ann Molacek, Clarkson, Libby Ann Mastny, Schuyler
and Betty Mastny of Norfolk, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and
husband Johnny.
