Gene Schultz, 65, of Brainard, died  Thursday, November 5,  2020, at the Butler County Healthcare Center in David City.

The family is planning a Celebration  of Life and at this time request no flowers, plants or statues, but memorials may be given in his memory.


Gene was born July 14, 1955, in Seward, Nebraska to Lawrence and Anna (Ihde) Schultz.  He attended school in Seward and Seward High School.  On March 25, 1996, he married Lisa Thelen in Idaho.  They lived in Brainard and Gene worked as a welder for Timpte Manufacturing in David City.  He loved time spent with family and everything "outdoors".

Gene is survived by his wife of Brainard, four children; Dawn Clark of Fairmont, Tracy (Alan) Kovar, Brainard, James (Jenny) Schultz, Bellwood and Maddie Schultz and fiance Bruce Hall of Bellwood.  Also surviving are two brothers; Gerald (Marsha) Schultz, Seward and Jack (Suzie) Schultz of Emerald, one sister, Joan (Ray) Kotera of Arizona, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Schultz and great-granddaughter Natalie.
